The Diamond Springs Lagoon Is Officially Underway

October 28th, 2026
Metro News - The Diamond Springs Lagoon Is Officially Underway

Jacksonville, get ready to make a splash. On October 28, Metro Development Group broke ground on the 4-acre lagoon at Diamond Springs, marking a milestone moment for our 1,300-acre community off Normandy Boulevard and for Jacksonville’s Westside. This is the very first Metro lagoon in Northeast Florida, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring our signature lagoon lifestyle to Jacksonville.

“Today we take another step towards Metro’s bold vision of bringing inland coastal living to Jacksonville,” said Lisa Gibbings, Vice President of Marketing and Communication at Metro Development Group.

A Celebration With Our Community

The groundbreaking brought together the people who are helping Diamond Springs take shape. Jacksonville City Council member Randy White spoke at the ceremony, and we were also glad to welcome Council member Rahman Johnson, along with representatives from all four of our builder partners. It was a true community moment, and a fitting start for an amenity designed to bring neighbors together.

Resort Living, Right Around the Corner

Picture this: you wrap up the workday, grab a paddleboard, and spend the evening on the water without ever leaving your neighborhood. That’s the everyday reality we’re building at Diamond Springs.

The lagoon will anchor a 17-acre recreation complex along Bright Lagoon Boulevard, packed with ways to play and unwind. Little ones can cool off at the splash pad while bigger kids (and kids at heart) take on the waterslide and bumper boats. Kayaks, volleyball, a VIP pool, private cabanas, and a swim-up bar round out the fun, with food trucks on hand to keep everyone fueled. The Hub will house land-based amenities, giving the whole complex a lively home base.

“Picture relaxing in a VIP cabana and feeling like you’re in a resort when you’re actually still in your own neighborhood,” Gibbings said.

The lagoon is expected to open toward the end of 2027. Diamond Springs residents will enjoy a significantly discounted rate, and day passes will also be available to the public, so friends and family across Jacksonville can share in the fun too.

Find Your Place at Diamond Springs

With 2,700 homes planned, Diamond Springs offers something for every stage of life, with homes starting in the $200,000s. Four of Florida’s most trusted builders are building here now.

D.R. Horton offers three-bedroom townhomes, with single-family homes on the way. Lennar brings three- to five-bedroom homes in a variety of sizes. Dream Finders Homes features two collections of single-family homes on 40- and 50-foot homesites. And for those looking for a little extra space, DRB Homes’ gated Haven at Diamond Springs offers three- to six-bedroom homes with three-car garages.

Growing Together in Jacksonville

Metro has built lagoon communities across Florida, and Diamond Springs marks an exciting new chapter as we put down roots in Northeast Florida.

“We’re excited to be a part of the Jacksonville community,” Gibbings said. “We’re excited to be a part of their growth.”
