Big Week at Angeline with Major Progress at Speros FL

Last week marked an exciting step forward at Angeline as Moffitt Cancer Center celebrated two major milestones at Speros FL, its cutting-edge, 775-acre research and innovation campus. About 300 attendees gathered on-site to witness the topping out of the Moffitt Discovery & Innovation Center and the installation of the cyclotron—the key piece of technology that will power the area’s first and most advanced proton therapy system.
These achievements are a testament to the momentum building at Speros, which is transforming from open land into a high-impact destination for research, treatment, and biotech growth. Backed by over a billion dollars in investment and expected to bring more than 11,000 jobs, the campus is helping position Florida as a national leader in life sciences.
The cyclotron traveled thousands of miles from Europe to become the heart of the proton therapy program. This advanced technology delivers extremely precise treatment and will anchor a new outpatient center offering imaging, infusion, and screening services. The adjacent Discovery & Innovation Center will be a 250,000-square-foot home to research teams focused on drug development and cancer pathways.
From beam-signing initiatives to the presence of top state and local leadership, the event was a celebration of progress and purpose. With the first patients expected in early 2026, it’s clear that the energy around Angeline and Speros FL is only growing—and we’re proud to see it unfold within the Metro community of Angeline.
