The now-famous Epperson Lagoon, arriving this spring to Metro Places’ Epperson community in Wesley Chapel, has started to fill with water. And what better way to celebrate the opening of the nation’s first Crystal Lagoon than with a visit from the most decorated Olympian of all time, swimmer Michael Phelps.
Fox 13’s Dan Matics writes about the monumental feature and how Metro Places plans to revolutionize community living forever.
In an interview with Metro Development Group’s Director of Marketing, Jen Austin, she explains that the lagoon’s opening has exceeded expected sales as more and more people are wanting to be part of this never-before seen feature. The lagoon, which holds over 10 million gallons of water, is designed to have a top of the line filtration system that guarantees crystal clear water at all times. The residents of the community will have access to paddle boards, a swim up to a bar, pristine beaches and even drive small boats in the lagoon.
The filling process will take up approximately 11 weeks leading up to the grand opening, which as Matics writes, is “planned to make a big splash,” with a special appearance by Michael Phelps. As Jen Austin puts it, “Who else do you need?”
